Study Trip Registrations Open for First Half 2026

Born in Genoa and inspired by the travels of Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus headed out to the open ocean in search of a western route to Asia and brought back to Spain the riches of the New World. Having unified Spain under their Catholic rule and having sponsored Columbus' voyage, Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand made Seville the center of the Spanish Empire upon his return. Explore this controversial period of Spanish history with local historians and artisans and enjoy Spain's contributions to world music, dance and food.
