The foundations of France's dominance in the fine art of dining were laid by the "Sun King" Louis XIV. He asserted his supremacy through lavish entertainment, pompous ceremony and a highly codified system of etiquette from his seat in Versailles. Through interactions with our local experts and artisans, discover what trade with the East and West in the 17th and 18th centuries brought to the aristocratic tables of France.
Lunches are included as a part of our day programme. Enjoy the breadth of French cuisine, including the world-famous pastries. Various dietary requirements can be met.
