Various forms of art, literature, religion, food and even medicines in Asia originated in China and travelled to Korea and then onto Japan. Porcelain production, for example, was born in China at the time of the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 AD - 220 AD). With the support of successive emperors, the skills were further refined, and the translucent yet durable porcelain wares were traded extensively on the Silk Road over the centuries. After World War II, the most significant pieces of Chinese porcelain, as well as other masterpieces of Chinese dynasties, found a new home in the National Palace Museum in Taipei. Explore this rich cultural heritage of the East with local historians and other experts under the semi-tropical sun!
For those interested in learning Mandarin to enhance their visit to Taipei, we will be offering semi-private language classes before the start of each day as an optional add-on. The class size will be limited to 4 students to allow for focused study. Open to students of all levels.
Lunches are included as a part of our day programme. An Evening Meal Plan is offered as an optional add-on. The meals will be in local eateries recommended by our Local Host. We are able to take into account various dietary requirements.
An Accommodation Plan is also offered as an optional add-on. We worked with our Local Host to find an accommodation that is comfortable and has wifi as well as lift access.
